EOLC 2023 Call for Proposals Now Open

The Call for Proposals is now open for our 6th Annual Excellence in Online Learning Conference. This year’s conference is devoted to driving quality assurance and innovation in online and hybrid learning, and advancing best practice guidance in learning for faculty, staff, and online learning professionals in the South Texas Region. This year’s theme will discuss adult learning strategies in distance learning and will include topics such as experiential and active learning, methods of instruction, building community, and more.

Session Types

  • Pre-conference workshops
    • 1.5-hour session
    • Up to two co-presenters
    • Technology
      • Any technology used within the workshop should be free, cross-platform, and easily obtainable
      • Please submit directions for obtaining this technology so participants can download the software prior to the session
    • There should be at least one artifact of learning that all participants can take away and use immediately after the session
    • Quality with innovation, affordability, and adult learning strategies in mind
  • Skill Builder
    • 40 minutes of hands-on material + 10 minutes of Q&A
    • Lead presenter and up to two Co-presenters
    • This is a bring your own device (BYOD) session
    • Any technology used within the workshop should be free, cross-platform, and easily obtainable
      • Please submit directions for obtaining this technology so that participants can download it before the start of the session and be ready to dive in
  • Panel
    • A diverse panel of 3-5
    • About 5 pre-planned questions to guide the conversation (30-40 min)
    • Time for the audience to follow up (~10 min)
  • Lightning Talks
    • A 5-8 minute presentation related to online student success
    • Showcase a tip, share an idea, and more!
  • Classic Presentation
    • A traditional 40-50 minute presentation
    • 2-4 activities embedded throughout your lecture so that participants can better retain the wealth of knowledge you have to share

The deadline to submit your session proposal is February 20, 2023. You will be notified by February 27, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. if your proposal has been selected for presentation at the conference. Sessions will be announced on March 6, 2023.
